Absence Monologue

by Ryan at 10:48 am and filed under: Site News, Malkin, Watch

‘Sas good a time as any to affect
An appearance that may quicken this site.
We have no reservations, and the table
Is not set, for more dire endeavors,
Like bottle bottoms of Manischewitz,
Vow and vie for the rare currency of
My attention. Could this be confused with
Softness t’wards My Shell? Perhaps it will. She
Wrote with the ghost, never owned up, ‘cept to
Status shield with proportionality:
“It was less than fifty-fifty. Promise!
More like the sum of one to one hundred!”
I shall now return to my absence, but
Carry on watching the Malkins finger and
Dig their holy (and wholly glorious) holes.

‘Tis a brittle, long limb to tarry on.
To wit, for those drawn by sweet carrion:
They will fall victim to evil self-contrived.
Thus ends act four, I may return in five.

Following Suit

by Ryan at 9:27 am and filed under: Site News

Michelle and Jesse are taking a break from blogging this week, although it appears that we’ll all be graced by new episodes of VENT.

I haven’t heard of a couple of the guestbloggers she’s chosen as fillings, but the others are certifiable lightweights who bang forth respective litanies of wingnuttery to satisfy the synapses of thousands of tens of lazy warmongers.

Expect limited Malkin blogging around these parts. Not that I’ve ever promised you guys anything anyway…

Wikipedians Unite!

by Ryan at 2:10 pm and filed under: Site News

It appears that some asshole has decided to take the MW link off of Michelle’s Wikipedia article. This was a point of contention long before I took over, so this is nothing new.

I am an active user of Wikipedia, but I tend to only edit typos; I’m not much of a contributor. I wouldn’t feel comfortable adding or subtracting from this particular article in any capacity, anyway. (Although sources have confirmed that Michelle or Jesse did perform significant editing of her Wiki article as an anonymous user.)

If you feel strongly about whether a link to MW deserves to be on MM’s article, and you’re an experienced editor, you know what to do.

Update: (8/13, morning) It has come to my attention that the title should be “Wikipedists Unite!” I think I’ll leave it as-is, though.

Thanks to everyone who’s contributing over there. If another debate begins in the Talk Page of the article in question, someone may want to point out that LGF Watch is in the external links (EL) list of the Little Green Footballs article.

That would be an interesting discussion of NPOV/Critics sections of the EL guidelines.

Update: (8/14, early morning) Just to be clear: I’m neither angry over this nor sending anyone off to further an agenda. I should also point out that “puerile” is one of those words that one should be able to spell in order to use it with command. (Hint: Search in the talk page.)

A Deal

by Ryan at 8:20 pm and filed under: Site News

Let it be known that I would be willing to consider removing the “SS-Schütze Malkin” banner if The Immigration Blog happened to be removed from These Prestigious Internets. Think of it as a Roadmap to Mutual Understanding.

New Logo

by Ryan at 10:35 am and filed under: Site News

I’m getting married tomorrow, but I’ve bought all of you a gift in lieu of receiving embroidered bath towels. As a reward for completing my own personal smoking cessation program, I commissioned the above piece from Ted Rall, who has two new books coming out that can be preordered from Amazon (or your favorite local bookstore) [*Ding!*].

Nota bene: This is not the first time Michelle has been portrayed as a Nazi in the Visual Arts of the Prestigious Internets. The Rev. Mykeru of the Church of the Subgenius was kind enough to send along these two pieces he did for his blog in 2005, the first being a bit more obvious.

Mein Queef

Fascist Hello Kitty

Oh yeah: Fuck civility and the peg-legged bitch it rode in on.

Update: (7/22, early afternoon) Looks like some incoherent blogger seems to think MW is a “hate site.” As would be expected from an individual with an apparently third grade education, he doesn’t offer up any content-based evidence besides reprinting the new logo without permission.

That’s fine. Stealing has become an all too typical hobby of political ingrates. I would at least have hoped for some fair analysis on what is “hate-filled” about Rall’s wanna-be Schütze Malkin piece. And I also think it to be of poor form for Michelle to send her lackeys my way: She should comment on what is so angering about this site; or just keep her reflexive opinions to herself and get back to cheerleading the mass oppression of brown people.

This Is a Pro-Amnesty Blog

by Ryan at 1:37 am and filed under: Immigration, Site News

In the event that it wasn’t totally obvious, I’d like to state explicitly that as the main contributor to this website I will fully support a sweeping pardon of undocumented workers. Any position that denies amnesty to the millions of immigrants from around the world is borne out of bigotry, xenophobia, and racism.

During one of the lulls on my drive through rural New York today, I tuned into a local talk radio station in time to catch a little of “The Radio Factor”, in which some piece of flesh passing for a racist human being filled in for the usual piece of shit host. He fielded calls that lamented the fact that whites will no longer be the majority race of the United States within a couple generations.

Regardless of how valid these concerns are, I fear that this is how many who are calling for us to enforce our unenforceable immigration laws really feel. They are drawing a recognizable line based on race and nationality, and I refuse to be on the side of the crackers.

A Is for Asshole

by Ryan at 11:14 am and filed under: Breaking the fourth wall, The A-List, Site News

I’m going on a much-needed vacation over the next week. As you can tell, I’ll be up to no good, partying with The Liberal Avenger within a couple days time. I’m expecting to have to break my personal promise of daily MW updating, but it’s only a week. I’m sure we’ll all manage.

Some miscellaneous items:

  • Watch for Ron Brynaert to make hell for the A-Listers while I’m on vacation. I highly recommend setting up something to read RSS feeds, just for this guy’s stuff. Killa, killa. If anyone’s going to motivate people like me to fully revolt against establishment bloggers, it’s Ron. Here’s an idea: Don’t read Atrios, Kos, or MyDD for the next week if you can help it.
  • Good news: According to Shakespeare’s Sister’s tabulations MichelleMalkin.com has seen a 30% drop in traffic over the last three months. Kudos to Michelle and Jesse.
  • Instead of letting Michelle make a fool of herself with another episode of VENT, Bryan Preston makes a fool himself. It’s becoming increasingly clear that he masturbates to 9/11 videos. Oh, and he thinks al-Qa’ida was behind the 1993 WTC bombing. Not only wrong, but about as tinfoil hatted as the MIHOPers.

Progress Report

by Ryan at 9:26 pm and filed under: Breaking the fourth wall, Site News

Well, we’re almost through with the (24+1)th day that I’ve been the sole contributor to MW. Here’s a breakdown of how writing about Malkin, instead of just plain ol’ reading her, has affected my life.

I have…

  • Increased my daily writing output.
  • Quit smoking.
  • Lost 11 pounds.
  • Increased my “staying power”.

Not too shabby. Criticism, constructive or not, is always welcome.

Stepping Up

by Ryan at 7:32 pm and filed under: Bolstering the fourth wall, Site News

I take responsibility for Auguste’s departure. After over a year of incessant IMs and emails extolling the talents and overall greatness of Mrs. Malkin, he’s decided hand it over to me.

auguste [23:50] :: wtf? didn’t I tell you to stop sending me links?
ryan [23:50] :: I didn’t think you were serious…
ryan [00:02] :: Are you mad?
auguste [00:03] :: [CENSORED]

I think he meant to type “sigh” there. Eh.

As far as I know, there aren’t any other major changes planned, save for the things the previous blogger will be taking with him. Most notably: Auguste’s signature “Friday Poetry Blogging” and quality writing. He may pick these up at the Liberal Avenger. We’ll see.

I can be contacted at ryan.mwatch[AT]gmail.com. And since you wouldn’t abuse Michelle or Allahpundit’s email addresses by signing them up for scandalous newsletters, please extend the same respect to mine.

In all seriousness, I applaud Auguste for the work he’s done here. Although it started as an excuse to publish something (anything) in blog form, he’s established that there is an audience for commentary on Michelle’s daily spews. I can only hope to be the Jon Stewart to Auguste’s Craig Kilborn. I think my inner child just shed a little tear…
