Oh Goodie

by Ryan at 8:12 am and filed under: Gratuitous Insults, Hot Air

More bad writing. Michelle navel gazes by proxy:

I’m excited to welcome Ian Schwartz, formerly of Expose the Left, to the team over at Hot Air. He’s an energetic and innovative young entrepreneur who helped kick off the video revolution on the right side of the blogosphere. Ian will be working with us, and starting college this fall, as we expand our programming and operations. We’re lucky to have him!

(BTW, that’s the whole post. No need to click through.)

Update: (8/7, evening) Silly me. I’ve been distracted today by talented dead writers. I didn’t even bother to go to Expose the Left to get Ian’s take on his new gig. I see this:

Beginning August 17th, the archives of Expose the Left will be accessed through a different link then [sic] it is now.

We’re in for a bumpy ride, folks. If you’re the praying type, beg the Almighty for him to take Bryan’s failures as an example, thus knowing his place and not posting much in the way of text — Amen.

As of yet, his Hot Airian purpose is not clear. Sporadic, yet frequent, updates as they come in. Developing…

Diggging a Hole

by Ryan at 3:26 pm and filed under: Gratuitous Insults, Hot Air, VENT

Economical blog posting is a virtue.

Yesterday the Malkins celebrated the third anniversary of Technorati. But the interesting part of that post comes in the form of off topic rambling:

Speaking of redesign, the moonbats at digg are whining about the format of my blog post headlines. So, I’ve turned off the caps. (Update: Well, I tried to, but it didn’t work. If you know your way around MT, let me know what I need to do. Thanks. Update II: No more CAPS!) Not that it’ll cure their BDS. But it can’t hurt.

A Challenge for MW Readers

by LA at 3:57 pm and filed under: Gratuitous Insults

OK. Here’s the challenge…

Use the following three Malkin-trademarked words and phrases together in a sentence or paragraph to comedic ends:

  • “blabbermouth” (or “blabbermouths” or “blabber”)
  • “Hollyweird”
  • “The New York Slimes” (or “NYSlimes”)

It’s my understanding that Jesse giggles so much whenever Michelle deftly employs one of these language-darts that he often ends up wetting his pants. Imagine how much joy you could create in the Malkin household by presenting all three together wrapped in a bow.

I hope they have a roll of paper towels handy.

Neiwert on Malkin’s New World Order Conspiracy Theorists

by Ryan at 10:14 am and filed under: Everything Else, Gratuitous Insults, What Others Are Saying

David Neiwert wrote a great expansion of a little post I did recently. My position has not changed: Michelle needs to shut down The Immigration Blog, if only to preserve her own reputation. And the exit strategy is safe and succinct: No one’s reading it.

Hah!

by Ryan at 12:03 am and filed under: Gratuitous Insults

MM.com’s sister site, HotAir.com, had no new posts yesterday. From the look of things, Allahpundit took off for most of the weekend, leaving the inestimably incompetent Bryan Preston to look after things.

And instead of just leaving her own site to stagnate through nearly all* of Father’s Day, Michelle had Jesse put up a “link roundup“, also known as the “hallmark of the unknown blogger”. (Seriously, though: Who wants to surf the web with the Malkins?)

For obvious reasons, I can’t really work under these conditions. I mean, unless “A la Pundit” is around, there’s really no fun in trolling the comments section — something Auguste and I part ways on.

*As I was writing this post, a Murtha smear roundup went up.

Teh Funny

by Ryan at 12:30 am and filed under: Gratuitous Insults, GWOT

We’ll know Malkin has fully completed her aerial excursion over the great white’s holding tank when Henry Rollins gets around to writing her a letter. Until then, enjoy his love letter to Mlle. Coulter, whose latest book is still in the Top 5 at Amazon. Congrats, Ann!

Henry Rollins: A Love Letter to Ann Coulter

N.B. “Ann Friday” is a Robinson Crusoe character reference, i.e. “man Friday”. And ouch. Shapeshifters Unite.

Update: Because I’m lazy, my media pick this week is the iTunes weekly freebie. Office’s “Wound Up”. Office - Q&A - Wound Up

Note to Allahpundit

by Ryan at 12:56 am and filed under: Gratuitous Insults, Notes to the Malkins

Oh man. Your taste in diss tracks is très wack. “Sabotage” [YouTube Link] by Beastie Boys? C’mon. You can do better than that.

You don’t remember when they started some beef with Bush on the web in March 2003? Talking shit about his “oil war”?

“In a World Gone Mad” [download here; lyrics here]

I’m guessing you’ve never heard Nas’s “Ether”, either. Nas - Stillmatic - Ether

I embrace y’all with napalm.
Blows up, no guts, left chest, face gone.

I’ve been fucked over, left for dead, dissed and forgotten.
Luck ran out, they hoped that I’d be gone, stiff and rotten.

Ask me if I’m tryin’ to kick knowledge.
Nah, I’m tryin’ to kick the shit you need to learn though:
That Ether, that shit that make your soul burn slow.

I think it really fits you, your jingoblogging buddies, and the way you’ve conducted yourselves through the Zarqawi Corpse media swarm. No need to thank me. Just watching your back, yo. ;-)

Ted Rall Responds

by Ryan at 1:55 pm and filed under: Gratuitous Insults, What Others Are Saying

Michelle got it wrong, yet again, this week by publishing (approvingly and without the appropriate fact check) an email, which claims that Ted Rall was not the first commentator to lambast some of the more opportunistic widows and widowers of 9/11.

“The widows’” act (all four of them) was getting tired long ago and Ann Coulter or that creep Ted Rall weren’t the first to point it out. Dorothy Rabinowitz of the WSJ may have that distinction and said as much in 2004.

Rall was the first, but it doesn’t stop Malkin from reprinting a large portion of a two-year-old column that wasn’t even interesting when it was new. Furthermore, she doesn’t have the temerity to reprint the comic in question. (By the way, the comic is over four years old, and can be viewed below the fold.)

Malkin: Dog Shit! Buy My Book!

by Ryan at 11:16 am and filed under: Gratuitous Insults

An unhinged Dem activist dropped an envelope full of canine scat into an R-pol’s mail slot. Slightly funny; mostly disgusting.* But M&J see this as an opportunity to hock their travesty to non-fiction:

I spy with my little eye something that begins with “U.” [Ed. Link goes to the Amazon page for Unhinged.]

Keep in mind that you don’t need to buy/steal the book, much less read it. David Neiwert did the job for all of us back when the “stool sample” hit the shelves. His series on the polemic. Priceless. Perfect weekend reading.

*I do not condone the handling of mammalian feces under any circumstances.

Update: Here’s a link to the AP article. I really want memeorandum to pay attention to me.

MichelleMalkinIsAnIdiot.com

by Ryan at 2:11 am and filed under: Gratuitous Insults, Racial Profiling, What Others Are Saying

Some people take Internet insults a little too personally.

Malkin tells us, “It’s the Jihad, Stupid“. The post is a verifiable/veritable verbal anal drip, a rehashing of her latest column. I’m guessing that no one is reading it if she has to post it on her blog; it’s basically an attempt to form the impression that there is an epidemic of jihadist activity on the continent that must be addressed through profiling. (Just scroll through the pictures. You’ll understand.) “Money” quote:

Many clueless North Americans remain shocked, shocked, that jihadis live among them — despite the open secret of our northern neighbor’s reputation as an Islamic terrorist safe haven.

Someone should remind whoever wrote this of the minor fact that the WTC and the Pentagon were in the U.S. on 9/11. Just from watching the news for the last week, it seems that Canada has a pretty good track record on thwarting terrorist attacks. Most notably, because they did it the right way: By infiltrating the cell. Torture not required.

A point I’ve been meaning to make:

Also last month, Virginia Death Row inmate and Nation of Islam convert John Allan Mohammed was convicted of six Maryland murders from his fall 2002 Beltway-area criminal spree.

Not only was he a member of the Nation of Islam, but a competent shot—trained by the U.S. Army. Surely Michelle doesn’t want to extend profiling and extended incarceration to returning war vets. Even the white ones.

Anyway. Apparently, some easily offended person took Michelle’s title to heart and has responded by registering the domain michellemalkinisanidiot.com. Looks bloglike.

Hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia

by Ryan at 12:11 am and filed under: Gratuitous Insults

Be afraid.

Ann Coulter’s latest book is out today. There seems to have been little buzz in the ’sphere over it. I guess they knew better than to try after the failure of Unhinged. Maddox’s book will probably do better. Now that’s scary.

If you need your Malkin fix, but can’t be reduced to looking over your wingnut officemate’s shoulder, check out how her Wikipedia article has been altered in response to the “anchor baby” “story” from June 4th. [History Page]

Update: Dirty Souf represent! My media pick of the day is OutKast’s latest single. They are the Mighty “O”. Preview or buy it through the iTMS by clicking the button. OutKast - Mighty "O" - Single - Mighty "O"

A Wah-mbulance Too Full

by Ryan at 6:05 pm and filed under: Gratuitous Insults, Who's Unhinged?

Does anyone else find it odd that, these days, Malkin and her peeps seem more likely to trust The Guardian’s reporting over that of The Times?

Today’s obsessively updated post revolves around the proposition that nefarious motives led to the posting of an incorrect photo on a Haditha massacre article. There is no indication that the photo appeared in the print edition of The Times.

I think it’s a great catch on the part of the bloggers involved, but mistakes do happen, especially on websites that are updated so frequently. If only the online editors would just issue an apology, we could get back to “waiting for the official report.”
