Bill Ayers: We “Knew One Another as Neighbors and Family Friends”

by Ryan at 10:32 pm and filed under: Hot Air, Election 2008, Comrade B. Hussein O.

It’s true!

And apparently wingnut is now synonymous with failure.

It’s a virtual certainty that Michelle is working on a post about this right now, but A la Pundit got there first:

This turd will be on Good Morning America tomorrow to hawk his book, if you can believe it. Will Diane Sawyer think to ask him how friendly the families were? Or, more importantly, what he learned from his epochal meeting of the minds recently with Reverend Wright? A rich trove of video treasure awaits us in the morning, my friends. Exit question: Has anyone queried The One on what sorts of crimes one would have to commit to lose their coveted “family friend” status? I realize questions of basic personal judgment are inappropriate on “dishonest narrative” grounds, but I’m curious nonetheless.

“Turd”? Ayers Derangement Syndrome rears its generous head. Had the Malkinites taken my advice, they wouldn’t have wasted so much time and energy on Ayers. He was a non-issue. Had his middle name been “bin”? Maybe.

As for A la’s bullshit “exit question”: I highly doubt anyone has asked Comrade Hussein anything of the sort. It would be meaningless. He’s such an inclusive guy, he’d probably welcome any Malkinite into his home on Pennsylvania Avenue for punch and vanilla pudding.

…upyernoz made an important point this morning:

the malkin-ayers connection

bill ayers wouldn’t be able to “cash in” if people like michelle malkin hadn’t been talking about him so much. you could argue that malkin and ayers are directly profiting off each other. malkin is making money by railing about ayers and ayers is making money by riding the notoriety that he gets from that said railing. they’re like symbiotic business partners.

(Sorry about stealing your whole post, noz.)

And we must extend this to the bloggers Michelle Malkin pays–most notably the guys at Hot Air. If blogger’s pay was based on results, the Malkinites would have filed for Chapter 11 last week.

She Never Liked McCain

by Ryan at 9:28 pm and filed under: Who's Unhinged?, Election 2008

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? -Matthew 7:16, KJV

Michelle’s jihad du jour is against John McCain’s inability to go after his own staff for trashing Sarah Palin. Michelle is so angry she called Johnny Mac by the horrifyingly uncivil nickname “McLame.”

From the man whose best-sellers include “Why Courage Matters” and “Character Is Destiny” comes this underwhelming reaction to the cowardly smearing of Sarah Palin by his own unnamed staffers: “These things happen.”

Not: “Shame on the leakers. I denounce and renounce them.”

Not: “I’m going to get to the bottom of this and make sure those blabbermouths never work in a major campaign again.”

Just: “These things happen.”

Yup. Business as usual from The Maverick’s not-so-maverick campaign:

(A la Pundit also provided a video of Michelle’s appearance on Cavuto, in which Michelle mewls.)

A first point: Michelle is taking this whole episode far too personally. This would be like getting pissed at Ben Affleck for saying J-Lo was the reason Gigli sucked so bad. Michelle never liked McCain and detested having to support his candidacy. But she did it anyway. And against her better judgment.

Not that she should have latched onto Gov. Palin so readily; she is the Executive of the #1 welfare state in the Union after all. And that gets into the thick of it. Senator McCain is going to back to the United States Senate and probably taking a good portion of his staff with him. Sarah Palin is going back to that great, snowy, welfare state of Alaska (i.e., paradise for hillbillies in Washington-speak).

The Senator likely knows who is smearing Palin, post-Epic Fail.

The Senator is convinced that the rumors are true.

Nothing Michelle can do will make Sen. McCain give a shit. No amount of questioning his character. It doesn’t matter how frequently she labels hidden enemies as suffering from “Palin Derangement Syndrome.”

MM = Irrelevant.

Yeah, Why Not?

by Ryan at 1:00 am and filed under: Malkinization

This dumb editorial is tl;dr. But there’s this:

If Al Franken can run a competitive race for the United States Senate, why can’t Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter, Dennis Prager, Hugh Hewitt, or Michael Medved do the same?

I’d love to know how Candidate Malkin would implement her policy positions on illegal immigration, including how she’d pay for them.

Note to Michelle, A la Pundit, & Capt. Ed

Your irrelevancy is manifest.

I can’t take all the credit for the death of your favorite party, but only a little.

P.S. It’s been fun watching you defend a subscriber to anthropogenic global warming. Good work.

Friendly Reminder

Gore won Florida. Whatever happens in a couple days, I’d like to be able to say the President Elect is legitimate.

Y’know, ‘cuz Legitimacy and the Oval Office have been divorced for ’bout eight years, or so.

Haven’t been posting, because MM and Hot Air dot coms have been quite boring, more of the same, etc. The comment threads are where it’s really goin’ on. Just read this one:

We need to know what the libs and the MSM are talking about. I like HotAir because it isnt a dailykos circle-jerk

I love A la Pundit’s poll posts. Especially the latest:

CBS/NYT: Obama 53, McCain 39

On top of this, Obama’s buying ad time in the broadcast markets here, a strongly R-area. (Let’s barrelhouse all night long, baby!)

“Get the Hell Off My Lawn!”

by Ryan at 10:36 pm and filed under: Election 2008, Malkinization

Someone stole Capt. Ed’s McCain-Palin-Communist-Revolution lawn sign. Observe his whining ways. He even uses the “The case of the…” construct in the title of his post, as if some rough-n-tumble cop who plays fast and loose with the rules might be close to cracking this one wide open.

Oh! And he’s even got a pic up of his wife, son-in-law, daughter, and conceived-out-of-wedlock grandchild just to make sure you know he’s totally humorless. (Fun fact: Ed’s wife, a.k.a. “The First Mate” is blind.) Perhaps I know too much about these people. Let me know when McCain throws in the towel. This sux.

Bonus: Ryan does his impression of Capt. Ed wanking into a bowl of Capt. Crunk, a.k.a. the last paragraph of any Queeg post:

Interestingly enough, the original story fails to get at the heart of the most notable aspect of the dynamic. Not that the sign was stolen, per se. (That’s to be expected.) It’s that the sign won’t be readily replaced. McCain ensured his supporters that the RNC’s warchest alongside his own public financing would be enough to take on the Democrat candidate. Maybe Feingold was onto something when he collaborated with Senator McCain…

Ah… It’s soul-shattering writing like I’m getting paid by the word.

Obviously a Sign of Liberal Bias

by Ryan at 11:05 pm and filed under: Malkinization

Google will give exact factorial values up through 15 and approximate values up through 170. (Just put in a number with an exclamation point after. E.g.)

I’m sure “overflow” is the “official” “reason”. Pshaw! I see bias everywhere!

Yawn.

by Ryan at 7:33 pm and filed under: Malkinization

I was on vacation last week. I successfully avoided CNN and Fox News in all the airports. It’s actually quite a lot of work avoiding the news media when a member of a politically-aware family. Also amusing explaining to an uncle who’s been front-paged Kos why exactly I’m only reading Malkin & Co.

Welp. Every third post at MM.com is “Kill the Bailout!” If you ask me, she’s got a shot at getting her way. (”Snort!”) That’s probably why she’s pushing so hard: There’s no chance she’ll see her policy positions on immigration enter the mainstream, and losing all the time sucks.

Don’t Do This, People

by Ryan at 9:13 pm and filed under: Racism, About Michelle, Malkinization

Michelle shares an email with us…

From: Leilani Albano
To: writemalkin@gmail.com
Subject: don’t forget you’re brown

i’ve read your stories throughout the years.

and i have to say, from one pinay journalist to another, you embarrass me and you embarrass our people.

i’m sorry the US media has used you, larry elders and other conservative drones of color to bolster their quota numbers.

what we need are more conscious journalists of color, not just another mainstream token acting as a cheerleader for the conservative right.

hopefully someday, you will find genuine connections with others and see how much damage you have done with your recklessly crafted pieces.

Unlike she does with Obama, I don’t pretend to know what Michelle is thinking or feeling. I don’t know her. I only know the persona that is Michelle Malkin. (Fun fact: Michelle still copyrights her books under the name “Michelle Maglalang.”) I’m guessing, though, that this email really stung. Michelle didn’t grow up in a strong Filipino community like the Filipinos I knew growing up, so it’s no surprise that the “our people” comment was taken as an extreme insult. MM was never “accepted by them” to begin with, so how could she “turn her back”? It’s an interesting aspect of the blogger’s life.

The part I emphasized above is of particular importance. If asked how her own skin color has impacted her career, I would guess Michelle to either take the indifferent stance or concede that it’s helped her. I highly doubt that a woman of Michelle’s viciousness would allow anyone to “use” her. To the contrary, her race is a platform to attract an audience that can’t distinguish differences among Asians–or realize that Michelle sees herself as a white American.

Today’s moral: Don’t bait Michelle and Jesse Malkin with issues of race. It only disrupts the hornet’s nests that are their troubled minds.

Michelle Explores Her Own Irrelevance

by Ryan at 8:32 pm and filed under: Still No Sense of Irony, Election 2008, Malkinization

Jill Greenberg disgraced her profession well before The Atlantic hired her.

A simple Google search would have turned up my post

Oh yes. It’s Michelle Malkin’s world; we just live here. If only The Atlantic had read Michelle’s crack reporting, they wouldn’t be in the precarious situation of having to answer to Michelle Malkin’s well-tempered criticism. A couple related questions:

  • Why didn’t McCain’s handlers Google Jill Greenberg? I’m sure they have Blackberries and iPhones.
  • Why didn’t Michelle use her Gazoogling skills (We all know they’re beyond those of mortal beings!) to rat out Box Turtle Ben Domenech’s plagiarism, back when he was editing her last book, Unhinged.

Queeg Can’t Question Assumptions

by Ryan at 9:21 am and filed under: Hot Air, Election 2008, Malkinization

Another poll falling into the bad-news-for-Barack category. Queeg:

One of the more striking numbers from the poll is the younger voter demographic. Obama has had a large lead in most polling in voters under 35, and in Minnesota, the college-age and young adult vote is a formidable weapon. Now, though, McCain and Obama evenly split that vote, which bodes ill for Obama in a general election.

First off, the data analysis that went into this report must be wrong. In no way will Obama and McCain split the 35-and-under vote. Impossible, really. My guess (without having any other references) is that corrections for party affiliation were to strong for Republicans and independents. Seems that whenever a poll claims they based numbers on 45% Dems, 28% Criminals, and 17% independents, the wingnuts go on a rampage.

It’s still worthwhile to look at poll numbers even if the absolute percentages aren’t accurate. They can still give an idea of where support is shifting. Obama, then, isn’t necessarily losing ground but opinion is shifting towards McCain slightly, due mostly to his Beard.

Obama has an opportunity now to enter the debates as an apparent underdog. (And Americans love an underdog!) In this situation, the viewers (and there will be a lot of them) go in with high expectations for the Favorite (McCain) and low expectations for Obama. Rope-a-Dope, anyone?
