Oh Goodie
More bad writing. Michelle navel gazes by proxy:
I’m excited to welcome Ian Schwartz, formerly of Expose the Left, to the team over at Hot Air. He’s an energetic and innovative young entrepreneur who helped kick off the video revolution on the right side of the blogosphere. Ian will be working with us, and starting college this fall, as we expand our programming and operations. We’re lucky to have him!
(BTW, that’s the whole post. No need to click through.)
Update: (8/7, evening) Silly me. I’ve been distracted today by talented dead writers. I didn’t even bother to go to Expose the Left to get Ian’s take on his new gig. I see this:
Beginning August 17th, the archives of Expose the Left will be accessed through a different link then [sic] it is now.
We’re in for a bumpy ride, folks. If you’re the praying type, beg the Almighty for him to take Bryan’s failures as an example, thus knowing his place and not posting much in the way of text — Amen.
As of yet, his Hot Airian purpose is not clear. Sporadic, yet frequent, updates as they come in. Developing…

WTF? Malkin Watch is now reporting Press Releases. Way to go guys! Your crack investigative reporting skills will continue to keep us on the edge of our seats just waiting for your next big exclusive scoop.

Malkin is bolstering her patented brand of lazy research with even more uninformed help. Ian’s blog was perhaps one of the most factually bankrupt websites residing on the ass end of the LGF galaxy. Much luck to ya Michelle.

It’s Malkin(s) Watch JBentheredonethat - and the point is that everyone knows what a piece of crap he did on his own blog. Now he can pile the crap on an already overflowing vat of crap at hot air. Oh, and he’ll do MM’s work for her, make her coffee, lunch runs and probably write a good portion of her “hey, hey….hey,…hey, hey” gibberish.

Mucha suerte, Michelle. La migra thanks you for all your hard work. Now let’s get crackin’: Try to think of a good, universal image representing Aztlan that we can burn in effigy.
VIVA LA RAZA BLANCA Y HETEROSEXUAL!!!

I hope not. I bet he’ll continue to post those incredibly damning videos that caused the lefties to just squirm in anger and frustration.

Ah, you mean those fawning reviews of C-list radio hosts like Laura Ingraham who give us the “truth” about the Iraq while barely leaving the confines of the Green Zone, or publishing the names of gay students by name and calling them “sodomites.”
Here, squirm to this video.

No, I was thinking of the follow up videos of Dan Blather trying to avoid the tough questions, Olbermann’s bumbles, the mass graves in Iraq, the looting in New Orleans, the Howard Dean rants, the looney tunes Jack Cafferty, and of course the classic question by Tim Russert:
“If demand is up but supply is down, why are profits so high?”

There was a highly amusing thread over at that guy’s site where commenters were scratching their heads trying to figure out what the phrase “speak truth to power” means. That one made me squirm with glee and delight.

Your blog is lame. Why don’t you try to make some substantitive points every once in a while. All I ever read is the same crap all the time about how Malkin’s writing doesn’t appeal to you or that she had the wrong color scheme on her latest VLog or how she doesn’t promote her immigration blog as much as she should.
Stylistically, between your shitty blog and Malkin’s, I’d pick Malkin’s hands down.
So how about making some arguments concerning her content?

Dear jake,
Substantive points? How can anyone make substantive points concerning Michelle’s content when she talks out of the side of her mouth every day? I guess you don’t get it.
I’m holding up a mirror to her operation. They’re nasty people with little much to offer than speculation and what appear to be approving links. My nastiness is, therefore, a reflection of their collective countenance.
It’s not that her writing doesn’t appeal to me, it’s that her writing is poor. Ever stopped to wonder why she’s trafficking in between-the-lines white supremacy on a website? If she were so talented at marketing her wares, one would think she’d have a her own television or radio program.
I don’t know where you got the color scheme thing from. That wasn’t me. In fact, it’s probably the only redeeming thing about VENT.
And, finally, The Immigration Blog… That beacon of racists everywhere. Have you checked it lately? No updates in the last three weeks (almost to the minute). It was never a problem with promotion. It was the rank bigotry and conspiracy theories. I hope she eventually takes it down.
Thanks for your support. Please keep your clichés to yourself.

Oh I know Ian Schwartz, he was one of the few wingnuts banned by Oliver Willis at his blog. Shouldn’t he be going to basic training instead of working for MM?
Comment by phinky — August 7, 2006 @ 11:14 pm
Dearer phinky,
I find the “yellow elephant” and “chickenhawk” concepts humorous, but there’s little use in trying to shame someone into either putting up or shutting up over a war you or I don’t agree with.
Ian has the resources to pursue an education and spread his propaganda. That doesn’t mean he shouldn’t act as a selfish actor in all this.
Everyone has criteria dictating the circumstances under which s/he will take violent actions for their beliefs. (And these criteria can be very private, indeed.) Ian and the other so-called “chickenhawks” do not see their country’s current military actions as fitting those criteria.
In other words, based on the running narrative of recent American history, they either believe themselves to be too important to be wasted on a desert battlefield or they believe their cowardice outweighs their ability to become heroes within that narrative.

Is it possible to make a substantive point about someone whose blog consists mainly of links to other blogs, “reax” to a story, and shoddily rewritten news wire stories with a dash of snark added? Probably, but it’s much more entertaining to mock their low production values.
