Spanish Civil War Victims to Receive Reparations
Do they deliver The Washington Times down in Hell?
MADRID — The Spanish government has approved a divisive bill allowing reparations for victims of the Spanish Civil War and the ensuing dictatorship of Gen. Francisco Franco, one of the darkest chapters of Spain’s modern history.
The bill also bans symbols and references to the 1939-1975 Franco regime in public buildings and asks local governments to rename streets or plazas that are named after the former dictator or allude to his regime.

Wow that’s fantastic. Franco was a blight on Spain’s history for sure.

My mother lost in this civil war her father, 2 brothers, and her mother whom she says died of sadness. My mother was 9 and an orfan at 15. She was recently contacted by the Spanish gov to receive “reparations”. Her and her remaining 2 brothers don’t want a thing to do with it and do not want to be reminded of that horrific time. I’m sad she doesn’t want to participate but can’t blame her. I applaud the efforts of my generation to bring these atrocities to the forefront… we can only learn from this. But like Mom has always said: Tarde, mal y nunca”
