Random Is Not the Operable Word

by Ryan at 7:49 pm and filed under: Racism, Who's Unhinged?

Michelle and Jesse have compiled a seemingly nonrandom gallery of dark complexioned Muslim individuals who were determined by authorities to have been lone gunmen (except, of course, in the case of the beltway snipers).

Here in Indiana we were recently struck by a case of an interstate sniper who took the life of one motorist and injured several others. Turns out that he’s white and has a Hebrew name. Compound these with the fact that after having admitted to the crime, he is maintaining his innocence. Makes you wonder why he didn’t make the list. Must be because it’s a “random” sampling.

buffalonews.com:

“[Zachariah Blanton] said he in fact did do the shootings, however, only with the intention of relieving pressure,” John Kelly, an Indiana State Police crime scene technician, testified at a hearing Tuesday.

The teen apparently had been arguing with relatives over gutting a deer during a hunting trip about 20 miles south of Seymour, Jackson County Prosecutor Stephen Pierson said.

Perhaps “random” is just the new cover-your-racist-ass adjective for getting around chronic confirmation bias.

Update: (8/1, early evening) Neiwert has a great takedown of the post alluded to above. Great read.

Diggging a Hole

by Ryan at 3:26 pm and filed under: Gratuitous Insults, Hot Air, VENT

Economical blog posting is a virtue.

Yesterday the Malkins celebrated the third anniversary of Technorati. But the interesting part of that post comes in the form of off topic rambling:

Speaking of redesign, the moonbats at digg are whining about the format of my blog post headlines. So, I’ve turned off the caps. (Update: Well, I tried to, but it didn’t work. If you know your way around MT, let me know what I need to do. Thanks. Update II: No more CAPS!) Not that it’ll cure their BDS. But it can’t hurt.

“[M]oonbats?” “[A]t Digg?” “[W]hining?” “[P]ost headlines?”

Malkin Replaces Coulter at Augusta Chronicle

by Ryan at 11:37 pm and filed under: Everything Else

From Editor & Publisher:

The Augusta (Ga.) Chronicle has become the second newspaper to drop Ann Coulter’s column this month, explaining that her “stridency” had crossed the line.

Coulter, of Universal Press Syndicate, is being replaced by another conservative columnist — Michelle Malkin of Creators Syndicate.

As David Cross put it when describing the racism he observed in Boston after moving there from the Atlanta area: “Out of the frying pan, and into the other frying pan.”

New Logo

by Ryan at 10:35 am and filed under: Site News

I’m getting married tomorrow, but I’ve bought all of you a gift in lieu of receiving embroidered bath towels. As a reward for completing my own personal smoking cessation program, I commissioned the above piece from Ted Rall, who has two new books coming out that can be preordered from Amazon (or your favorite local bookstore) [*Ding!*].

Nota bene: This is not the first time Michelle has been portrayed as a Nazi in the Visual Arts of the Prestigious Internets. The Rev. Mykeru of the Church of the Subgenius was kind enough to send along these two pieces he did for his blog in 2005, the first being a bit more obvious.

Mein Queef

Fascist Hello Kitty

Oh yeah: Fuck civility and the peg-legged bitch it rode in on.

Update: (7/22, early afternoon) Looks like some incoherent blogger seems to think MW is a “hate site.” As would be expected from an individual with an apparently third grade education, he doesn’t offer up any content-based evidence besides reprinting the new logo without permission.

That’s fine. Stealing has become an all too typical hobby of political ingrates. I would at least have hoped for some fair analysis on what is “hate-filled” about Rall’s wanna-be Schütze Malkin piece. And I also think it to be of poor form for Michelle to send her lackeys my way: She should comment on what is so angering about this site; or just keep her reflexive opinions to herself and get back to cheerleading the mass oppression of brown people.

The VENT Derision Thread

by Ryan at 12:37 pm and filed under: VENT

Today’s episode of VENT has to be in the Top 5 Worst Ever category for video blogging. The writing and, to some extent, the production aren’t horrible, but it’s the content that gives it away. So if you’ve got a few minutes, go watch today’s episode and pick out your favorite part.

Note to A la Pundit

by Ryan at 6:08 pm and filed under: Notes to the Malkins

A few things on this:

  • I’m elated to finally see someone so close to Michelle admit that “she’s a right-wing race and gender traitor”, even if it is in that “Can I still lick Michelle’s crack clean con queso when you’re out of town, Jesse?” kinda way.
  • I have yet to see a strong argument against what is described as “identity politics.” To be honest, it seems to be such a tedious concept as to be meaningless. I mean, if I had to distill the current state of the debate down to one sentence it would be, “The white male voting bloc should be the only voting bloc.”
  • It’s incorrect to put a comma after “i.e.,” which is Latin for “id est”, i.e. “it is.” Exceptions abound; for example, in the case of the previous sentence where “i.e.” is clearly being used as the object of a prepositional phrase and the comma within the quotation marks is offsetting a dependent clause.

Malkinopoly

by Ryan at 10:02 am and filed under: What Others Are Saying

Marymary over at MM=I recently exhibited her awesome command and understanding of all the fucked up things that travel through Michelle’s/Jesse’s brain(s). And what better medium than a Malkin version of the Monopoly game board. Classic.

Michelle Malkin, on the Side of the Terrorists

by Ryan at 9:39 am and filed under: Who's Unhinged?

Michelle has made many veiled statements concerning her disapproval of legal abortion. (Note that her less-than-explicit opinion on the issue suggests that she has had an abortion at some point in her life. Likely at the behest of Jesse.) Because she is an anti-choicer, she supports the bombing of abortion clinics, right?

Unfortunately, the AP won’t call a recent threat and attempted bombing of Mississippi’s only abortion clinic a terrorist act. But that’s only because they’re on the side of the terrorists. Right?

Here’s Michelle from this morning (sans links):

Which side are they on? The New York Times settles the question definitively with a hysterical, unreality-based lead editorial today recycling the BDS attacks on the War on Terror — but even more so with this disgusting pictorial tribute to Iraqi terrorists killing American soldiers, spotted by the vigilant Charles Johnson at LGF.

A fair-minded rewrite:

The New York Times is on the side of the terrorists, because the paper published an editorial critical of American foreign policy that I won’t bother arguing against; and to a greater extent, because a picture of a Mahdi army sniper aiming on U.S. troops was taken by a Portuguese photographer under the employ of the Times back before that militia was on our side.

I still get a little put back when I read something that labels anyone who wants the American military out of their country as a “terrorist”. That every insurgent in Iraq wants to kill every American. I’ve long felt that the only thing that would move me to walk down to the recruitment office would be threat of invasion. Did I type “invasion”? I meant “liberation”.

Update (7/17, early evening): The Liberal Avenger echoes my sentiments here by arguing that Malkin’s loyalty to American freedoms is in danger of becoming collateral damage in her attacks against legitimate photojournalism.

One Can Only Hope

by Ryan at 7:57 pm and filed under: What Others Are Saying

The NYTimes got some powder in the mail, coinciding with recent protests against free speech by (strangely enough) American conservatives.

nyc indymedia reports with silent sobs:

It is unknown if the FBI will begin to racially profile the protesters at the Times offices in order to better assess the terrorist threat they pose.

Its uncertain as to whether Michelle Malkin and Rabbi Aryeh Spero of the Caucus for America will be arrested pre-emptively in order to keep them from doing any further damage.

We don’t know any of these things. But I doubt it.

The Definitive Left-O-Sphere Frisch Condemnation

by Ryan at 12:42 am and filed under: What Others Are Saying

Chris Clarke, being of the type that gets paid for the stringing together of words, does more than I would had I been pressed to respond to Deb Frisch’s vile remarks. I likely would have lowered the bar by saying, “Fuck Goldstein!” and then proceeded to make fun of the guy for having panic attacks every time some liberal blogger emails him a takedown link.

If this were something I could sign onto, I would:

[L]et me say this straight out to dispell any misconceptions:

I am appalled by Deb Frisch’s crude, offensive, and arguably threatening statements. I condemn them.

I’m also appalled by the burning of the Reichstag, and I condemn it in no uncertain terms. And all those chickens: I condemn each and every feather on their backs as they come home to roost. And I further and summarily disavow all of the fruits of the seeds Goldstein may or may not have sown, though I fully support his right to reap them as he sees fit.

If you didn’t know, Michelle and Jesse wrote about the Frisch thing. Eh. Nothing special.

By the way, Michelle doesn’t like them.

(Longish) Note to Michelle

by Ryan at 2:14 pm and filed under: Notes to the Malkins

Not Aztec math!

I’m glad you’ve uncovered this. I can’t believe there are people who want to teach the descendants of native Central Americans about the greatness of their ancestral civilizations. You know, before they were destroyed by European conquistadors. You deserve an award for journalistic excellence! You’re like a conservative Greg Palast with limited connections and no talent.

I just hope these “La Raza” schools aren’t a result of people like you telling these kids that they don’t and can’t contribute anything to America. Them being so brown and illegal and all. That would be sad. And you would have to give up that award for journalistic excellence. You’d have to settle for something underscoring your propensity for hack propaganda.

P.S. I’ve also noticed your successful efforts in undermining our ability to win hearts-n-minds in Iraq, too! Looks like you and your allies have made a big score.

Hot Air Covers Reparations

by Ryan at 11:11 am and filed under: Racism, Hot Air, Reparations

…and crackerdom ensues.

I’m not entirely sure what possessed A la Pundit to cover this, considering the rabid racism of his base audience.

And he doth proclaimeth (with a healthy dose of ye olde verbal irony):

It’ll cure blacks’ sense of grievance and make whites more sympathetic to the injustice of slavery by driving home the economic costs.

I don’t believe the author of this sentence has the capacity to sympathize with the man who couldn’t patronize a store owned and operated by a person who looks like him if he so desired. Granting small bits of humanity such as this to a people oppressed for the good part of 500 years is beyond a dollar amount. Who cares how angry a bunch of racists get?

A Couple Blogslaps

by Ryan at 2:14 pm and filed under: Everything Else

First from marymary of Michelle Malkin Is an Idiot! on the lynching story out of Nigeria and MM’s obsession with the lynchers’ religion.

Murderous thugs are murderous thugs. The Muslim religious fanatics who killed that poor Nigerian girl are no better or worse than the Christian religious fanatics who bomb abortion clinics or kill gays, or hang black men for dating white women. They’re called fanatics for a reason.

And The Liberal Avenger reminds us that sometimes an alarm clock is just an alarm clock. If I ever grow out my beard again, I’ll be sure to tape a 9-volt battery to it when I go to the airport. I mean not tape. That’s what I meant. Honest.
