Malkin Repeats Fallaci Inaccuracy

by Ryan at 11:22 am and filed under: Everything Else

Michelle was on Pajamas Media “Blog Week in Review” panel a couple days ago. The MP3 can be downloaded here. One of the many topics covered is the beginning of Oriana Fallaci’s trial in Italy. (Begins at around the 23:00 mark.)

As I pointed out about a week ago, Fallaci does not face prison time, due to a January 2006 rewriting of the statute in question. In the podcast, Michelle exaggerates the (now revised) sentence as being three years in prison (where it was at one point only two years).

Michelle should, of course, know better. She ostensibly read the New Yorker profile on Fallaci that she linked to on July 12:

In January, Fallaci’s supporters in the Italian Senate pushed through an amendment to the code, reducing the maximum penalty to five thousand euros.

The law is still a joke, but this doesn’t excuse PJs Media from being just as ill-informed as the establishment media they are constantly railing against for the mere crime of not covering this story.

  1. Since Michelle didn’t do it on her blog, I want to publicly say “Happy Father’s Day” to Michelle’s dad. If it weren’t for him, there would be no Malkin Watch. And while I’m at it, I may as well wish Jesse’s dad a Happy Father’s Day too. I’m sure he’s a nice guy even though his son turned out to be a complete dick.

  2. I’d like to wish a happy Father’s Day to fathers everywhere. Especially the ones who aren’t married to professional propagandists.

  3. Another example if the ill informed (MM) jumping to illogical conclusions based on what she thinks rather than what “IS”. Doesn’t Michelljess realize people actually do link to the information she uses for her jibberish? Get your shiznit together Michelljess, don’t use your own propagandist comments and base them on information that you link to when the information nullifies your opinion.

  4. Should that be the Fallaci Falacy?

  5. I would say that everything about Muslims that comes from Fallaci’s mouth is fallacious, so that would just be redundant. ;-)
