A Is for Asshole

by Ryan at 11:14 am and filed under: Breaking the fourth wall, The A-List, Site News

I’m going on a much-needed vacation over the next week. As you can tell, I’ll be up to no good, partying with The Liberal Avenger within a couple days time. I’m expecting to have to break my personal promise of daily MW updating, but it’s only a week. I’m sure we’ll all manage.

Some miscellaneous items:

  • Watch for Ron Brynaert to make hell for the A-Listers while I’m on vacation. I highly recommend setting up something to read RSS feeds, just for this guy’s stuff. Killa, killa. If anyone’s going to motivate people like me to fully revolt against establishment bloggers, it’s Ron. Here’s an idea: Don’t read Atrios, Kos, or MyDD for the next week if you can help it.
  • Good news: According to Shakespeare’s Sister’s tabulations MichelleMalkin.com has seen a 30% drop in traffic over the last three months. Kudos to Michelle and Jesse.
  • Instead of letting Michelle make a fool of herself with another episode of VENT, Bryan Preston makes a fool himself. It’s becoming increasingly clear that he masturbates to 9/11 videos. Oh, and he thinks al-Qa’ida was behind the 1993 WTC bombing. Not only wrong, but about as tinfoil hatted as the MIHOPers.

Divide and Conquer

by Ryan at 1:52 pm and filed under: Racism, What Others Are Saying, About Michelle

David Neiwert has an excellent post up on the latest developments coming out of the Minuteman Project, most notably the divisions at the leadership levels and the rumblings coming from their easily confused donors.

One of the really fortunate aspects of the far right in America is that it is constitutionally predisposed to fracturing: the combination of latent paranoid tendencies, controlling personalities and gigantic egos makes it nearly certain that its various components can never form an effective, long-term coalition.

[Link]

(When the first paragraph is that good, you can tell it’s going to be a great read.)

What is somewhat ironic about groups like the Minuteman Project is that they refer to themselves as conservatives but take on revolutionary labels. They also seem more than willing to fling mud at each other over trivialities, such as money and how it’s spent. Obviously, revolutions without coherent, realizable goals are doomed for failure.

I suppose one could say that Michelle and Jesse Malkin are cut from the same cloth as the leaders of these far-right groups. After the ghostblogging charges began to diffuse through the blogosphere, the two cobloggers may have become increasingly paranoid about even more damaging leaks making their way to sundry blogs of ill-repute.

And given Michelle’s propensity for lashing out at critics, one wonders if they suspected people who know them well. On top of that, Jesse’s [alleged] tendency toward violent behavior suggests that his enormous ego clashing with Michelle’s comparably enormous ego is no pretty sight. Fer sure.

Note to Michelle

by Ryan at 2:56 am and filed under: Notes to the Malkins

Shut down the horrendously racist, conspiracy theory laden Immigration Blog. Because this shit is unacceptable:

The root of the evil: our apparent forced march toward a “comprehensive” New World Order of regional and ultimately global government, where nation-busting mass immigration is just one part of the process.

And I’d like to think you weren’t lying when you told O’Reilly you don’t agree with this kind of thing:

And without the summary removal of illegal aliens—sending them packing without years of immigration litigation — there will be no real immigration law enforcement in this country . . . because no one will be leaving anytime soon.

Michelle’s Flip-Flop on the Mommy Question

by Ryan at 3:08 pm and filed under: About Michelle, Hypocrisy

Michelle Malkin is a professional blogger. She is also a proud mother of two. Her husband, Jesse, is a stay-at-home father who also happens to ghostwrite portions of her blog.

They employ at least one full-time nanny and another part-time babysitter to watch after their kids. Not out of necessity, but because of their blogging obsession.

Now, I only bring up these facts (in firmly diplomatic terms, of course) to draw attention to Michelle’s do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do approach to parenting. Below the fold is the entirety of a column by one Ms. Michelle Maglalang, which appeared in the Long Beach Press-Telegram on April 30, 1993.

Raising a Photoshop Militia

by Ryan at 6:48 pm and filed under: Everything Else

MichelleMalkinIsAnIdiot.com has a couple WW2 poster pastiches up. Good stuff. [Link]

I know there are at a least a few regular MW readers who happen to be creative Photoshop enthusiasts. And everyone knows that there’s nothing more important to dedicate one’s Sunday evening to than making fools of the Malkinites.

Me? I don’t even know how to open Photoshop, much less pirate and attempt to operate it.

Update (6/27): Reader Ralph left a link to a MetaFilter roundup on the poster parody ConJob. Here are two gallery sets of older liberal remixes of some of these posters that you shouldn’t miss: Old American Century Galleries & WhiteHouse.org Patriotic Posters.

On Torture & How To Lose the War on Terror

by Ryan at 7:43 am and filed under: Who's Unhinged?

A couple days ago, Gordo, one of the best new bloggers out there, deconstructed Michelle’s intentional misunderstanding as to why Amnesty International did not release a statement specifically addressing the torture and brutal killings of two Army soldiers earlier this week. The points made extend to the general criticism directed at us anti-war commentators that we don’t condemn the acts of our enemies readily. The bottom line: “I can’t vote to replace bin-Laden as the leader of al-Qaeda.” Please take the time to read the whole thing.

And now with the developments of a broken terror cell in Miami, Florida and the revelation that the CIA is conducting unregulated tracking of financial transactions, Malkin further reveals her will to “lose” that fictional Global War on Terror. Successful counterterrorism measures begin and end with “actionable intelligence”, which (in a case like this) is idiot speak for “cell infiltration”. And that is what the Miami case appears to be.

Michelle on Her Own Skin Color

by Ryan at 9:09 am and filed under: Racism, About Michelle

Eric Muller posted an excerpt of a 1998 Seattle Times Malkin column. This should put to rest any claims that Michelle is herself not a racist. Before she became the vile one she is today, her racism was a source of defensiveness and a quite obvious inferiority complex.

Here’s the whole thing:

Wenyi Wang To Be Tried (Or Not)

by Ryan at 10:26 am and filed under: The A-List, Hypocrisy

Michelle has written a total of three posts lauding the actions of Wenyi Wang (and strangely using the situation to take a swipe at Rep. Cynthia McKinney).

Video:Shouting Down a Tyrant
Wenyi Wang Rocks
The Prosecution of Wenyi Wang

****

Pasadena Weekly (article also includes an informative interview with Wang):

Unfortunately for Wang, a 47-year-old mother of two, the romantic notion of America as the home of free speech is about to collide with the harsh reality of what happens when small voices speak big truths to powerful people who do not want to hear such things. And in this case, it appears power is about to have its way again with Wang facing possible jail time, heavy fines and perhaps even deportation if convicted for her internationally televised 45-second tirade against Hu on the White House lawn.

The Post reports that court documents have Wang waving a yellow banner and shouting in Chinese: “Stop oppressing the Falun Gong,” “Your time is running out” and “Anything you have done will come back to you in this lifetime.” Although Wang disputes saying Hu’s time was running out, she reportedly also yelled to Bush, “Stop him from persecuting Falun Gong!”

If you followed this story from Malkin’s angle (not to mention that of the rest of the A-Listers on both sides) the threats in bold above may seem surprising. That’s because you weren’t reading Mykeru. His coverage included accurate translations of Wang’s Mandarin. And although these could be considered “political threats”, one can hardly imagine a moonbat or militia member yelling at Bush, “Your days are numbered!”

All of the self-described professional bloggers who covered this story should be ashamed of themselves for intentionally turning a blind eye to Myk’s observations. In Malkin’s case, she has a grudge against the loose union of pointedly anti-Malkin blogs made up of The Liberal Avenger, Malkin(s)Watch, and Mykeru.com.* Needless to say, she has let her hatred for her most effective critics compromise her ability to cover something as plain as a protest.

Another superfluous string of letters: Her readers don’t care.

*Neiwert’s Orcinus and Muller’s IsThatLegal? intentionally left out because she actually responds to them on occasion.

Michelle Malkin, Failure

by Ryan at 3:58 pm and filed under: Racism, Immigration

It seems that Michelle’s chance to shine during the midterm elections has passed. Over the last year, her pet issue, immigration, has been sidelined by her obsession to uncover a pattern of “unhingedness” emanating from The Left. As a result, her poorly touted Immigration Blog project is something of an utter failure — much like its main author.

NYT:

WASHINGTON, June 20 — House Republican leaders today put the brakes on efforts to overhaul immigration laws, saying they would hold hearings this summer around the nation on the politically volatile subject before trying to compromise with the Senate on a chief domestic priority of President Bush.

The unusual decision to set a new round of hearings on legislation already passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate puts the prospects for enacting a final bill this year in jeopardy despite Mr. Bush’s call for Congress to act.

The timing means that formal Congressional negotiations would not begin until September, just as Congressional campaigns are entering their crucial final weeks — a time when lawmakers typically shy away from difficult issues.

Of Busta & Obligatory Blow Jobs

by Ryan at 1:20 pm and filed under: GWOT

Just as was done last week, here’s a link to some free media: Oliver Wang has one of the new tracks (and three of the skits) from the new Busta Rhymes album New Crack City. Head over to Soul Sides and get familiar, bitch!

If you need some light yet titillating reading, R. Mildred is sustaining the Twisty Faster-induced hummer kerfuffle with some commentary on the fellatio pro cunnilingus phenomenon. Something the right and proper Malkins don’t have to worry about.

Gratuitous blast from the past: Bareback Jesse.

by Ryan at 10:00 pm and filed under: Notes to the Malkins

Goin’ after the Dixie Chicks, eh? I have to agree with you on this: They’re not exactly the most eloquent commentators on the meaning of patriotism. But they’re certainly representative of a sizable group of Americans disillusioned by injustices done in their name.

But, you know, whatever. I’m sure you would have told Ben Franklin to “Shut up and print, you French-speaking, muffin top-having ugly face! The Stamp Act rocks!”

P.S. When did Levi-Strauss start making potato sacks?

P.P.S. And, again: No! You may not see my muffin top.

Coulter Logic

by Ryan at 12:22 am and filed under: What Others Are Saying

News Hounds guestblogger Priscilla makes an excellent point regarding Warlord author Ilario Pantano and Ann Coulter’s recent 9/11 widows comments:

My suspicions were affirmed when I came across Michelle Malkin’s endorsement of Mr. Patano’s [sic] book. She recommended that it be given to your “local troop trashing columnist or cartoonist” and mentioned that his experience reminded her of the Haditha “debacle.” Now according to Ann Coulter, isn’t Mr. Pantano [sic] exploiting his personal tragedy for personal gain? As a soldier isn’t he what Coulter refers to as a “human shield?”

And over at MichelleMalkinIsAnIdiot.com (or as I like to call it, “MM=I”) there’s a list of some of the more tasteless Coulter quotes modified so as to attack Michelle’s ethnicity, sex, and overall existence.
