Just the kind of fearless leadership the Republican Party needs

Malkin goes home:

The best moment of the [Oberlin] event came during Q&A, when an Asian-American student stood up and said she was afraid to join the College Republicans because of peer pressure. She confirmed that groupthink on campus was strong, among both students and professors. After the lecture, she took the plunge and signed up with the CRs. Made the whole trip worth it!

“Took the plunge”? Um, she joined the youth organization of the party which currently controls the Presidency, the Congress, and the Judicial Branch, not to mention the bulk of the blogosphere.

Now that’s bravery.

  1. That’s the “best moment”?

  2. Why, I’m just so PROUD of her, taking SUCH a brave stance.

Maybe next she’ll come out in favor of high oil compamy profits, multi-million-dollar CEO wages, tax cuts and capitalism in general.

But I wouldn’t want to push her, or anything. She’s got to work up the courage herself.

  3. I’m very proud of her as well. With the communist-liberal death squads marching through our universities massacring innocent patriotic Republicans, it’s amazing to see the CR as an organization still exists. She’s very brave indeed. I live near Rutgers U and recently the Stalinist-Democratic Youth Group publicly executed five CRs. Very sad. The repression we Republicans suffer for our faith in tax cuts for the super rich, unbridled executive power, and Christofascist government is difficult to endure day after day. Somehow, we’ll make it through another day.

  5. When your tires are slashed in the university parking lot, you’re physically bullied outside the library by professor-influenced Bush-haters and your dorm door is riddled with graffiti about being a “Bush-nigger”, all the while matriculating in a hostile liberal college environment where good grades are sometimes tied to how “liberal” you express yourself in a classroom, a conservative college co-ed does indeed have to be “brave” to go forward and join a Republican college club. This is regardless that the majority of the outside world agrees with her values.

Sorry you can’t see these “distinctions” in the parellel universe called liberalism which you appear to inhabit.

  6. From what I hear, College Republicans have a lot more to worry about from each other than from liberals.
